Find relief from spinal cord compression and restore neck stability with advanced surgical solutions in Englewood.
Procedure Overview
Posterior cervical laminectomy and fusion is performed under general anesthesia with the patient lying face down. Dr. Stieber makes a small midline incision at the back of the neck, then gently retracts muscles and soft tissues to access the lamina. Using specialized instruments, he removes or reconfigures portions of bone that compress the spinal cord or nerve structures. The lamina or other removed bone may be prepared as a graft, and additional graft material or implants are placed to fuse the affected vertebrae. Throughout the surgery, fluoroscopic imaging and nerve monitoring ensure precise positioning and minimize the risk of complications.
